Dojo Garage Sale

The dojo will be having a fund-raising garage sale on Saturday, July 31st. We're looking for help from all classes, but also for stuff to sell. We need to raise some $$$ to cover an increase in insurance so that we can keep the MMA sparing class and also to replace our worn out mats.

Cornhusker State Games

The Cornhusker State Games Judo competition will be on Saturday, June 19th at Sho Rei Shobu Kan. Weigh-ins are from 8-10am. Kata competition begins at 10 with individual competition following kata.

If you're not already registered, get registered soon! Cost is only $25 if you get registered by the 31st ($5 late fee after that). For your entry fee you not only get to compete, you get a T-shirt and entry to the opening ceremonies which is always a good show.

Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan will be hosting a Judo Competitors clinic given by Ryan Reser on

Saturday, September 19, 2009. Ryan was on the US Olympic Judo team in Beijing in 2008.

Current membership in USA Judo, USJF, or USJA is required to addend this clinic. All competitors mush show a current card (with insurance). USA Judo membership applications will be available the day of the clinic.

Schedule:

The clinic will be divided into two sessions, each on different techniques.

• Session 1: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Lunch (on your own) 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
• Session 2: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

• $25 per session if pre-registered by August 30
• $30 per session if received after August 30
• $35 per session at the door

Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan Fall Tournament

We are currently planning to hold our Fall tournament on Saturday, October 3rd. If we find that conflicts with anything else, the backup date that we have in mind is Saturday, October 31st. Weigh-ins start at 9:00 am and matches usually start around 11:00 am.

Loras College Tournament

CSG Judo Registration Deadline Extended

The deadline for registration for the Judo competition in the Cornhusker State Games has been extended. Registrations will be accepted the day of the competition (Saturday, July 18^th) The registration fee for late entries is $28.

Weigh-ins begin at 8:00 am. Kata demonstration will begin at 10:00 with matches following.

The event will be held at Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan at 19th and N Streets, Lincoln. Be aware that the bar next door is holding a street festival the same day and will have the street blocked off, so parking will be an issue.

2009 Cornhusker State Games Judo Competition

The deadline for entering the 2009 Cornhusker State Games has been extended one week, until July 6th. Anyone who is interested in competing in the State Games Judo competition who hasn't signed up, should get their butt in gear and do so before it's too late.

WAIVERS & PRINTABLE ENTRY FORMS

DATE AND TIME: Saturday, July 18. Weigh-ins 8-10 a.m. KATA begins 10 a.m. Individual competition follows completion of KATA.

SITE: Academy of Sho-Rei-Shobu-Kan, Roseberry's Martial Arts Center,1811 N Street, Lincoln.

ENTRY FEE: $23 per entrant for the first event, $11 per entrant for each additional event if entered by June 22. $5 late fee if received between June 23 and July 6. Entry fee includes athlete T-shirt, passes to SportFest and the Opening Ceremonies and a copy of the Nebraska Sports Council Yearbook.
